The Nigeria Government says it will review and update the national guidelines concerning sickle cell disease, as part of efforts to reduce the burden of sickle cell anemia in the country.
Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, revealed this at the opening ceremony and workshop of the Sickle Cell Pan African research Consortium, Nigeria Network.
The updated guidelines will accommodate new research findings in tackling sickle cell disease in the country.
