Nigeria to receive COVID-19 vaccines Tuesday

Nigeria's government says delivery of the first shipment of the covid19 vaccines under the Covax facility is underway.

The first batch of 4million AstraZeneca – Oxford vaccines manufactured in India by the Serum institute will arrive on Tuesday March 2.

Nigeria becomes the third African nation to receive vaccines under the world health organization’ global vaccines acquisition and distribution platform – the covax facility.

Boss Mustapha, Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on COvid19 disclosed this on Sunday via local station– Channels television.

According to Mustapha, Nigeria is expecting a total of 84million doses of the vaccines by the end of 2021 to inoculate 20 percent of its population.
