The Nigerian Government is strengthening its partnership with the United Nations Mine Action Service, UNMAS to protect civilians from the threats of mines and explosives particularly the vulnerable population in the North East.

In commemoration of the International Mine Awareness Day, the government and partners convened on Abuja to raise awareness on explosive hazards and enhance safe behavior.
