Nigeria’s largest city and commercial hub – Lagos has effectively placed a ban on single-use plastic bags and materials.

The state government in a statement via X, described the decision as part of measures to curb pollution.

The consequences of plastic pollution in the city over the years resulted in environmental pollution, drainage blockages, and massive flooding.
