The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Nigeria's Lagos State, the country’s commercial capital, Moyosore Onigbanjo, has condemned the brutalization of the #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters over the weekend.

On Saturday the protesters hit the streets, demonstrating against the resumption of operations at the Lekki tollgate. They were however arrested and crowded inside what appeared to be a van, with many of them half-naked.

The youths were later charged and granted bail.

Speaking on Sunday on Privately owned television station, Channels Television, the attorney-general said that the police is expected to give account of what happened.

He also noted that the state derives no joy in seeing people harassed.
