The search for the kidnapped Nigerian schoolboys is continuing.

The boys numbering over 300 were kidnapped from a boarding school in Kankara, Katsina State, north-west Nigeria.

The militant group Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the abduction which the army had earlier blamed on bandits operating in the region.

It was the first such operation carried out by the group in this area.

Security analyst Dr Kabiru Musa says there are reasons to believe that bandits acted on behalf of the terrorist group.
