In Nigeria, the northern states forum also known as The Arewa Consultative forum, (ACF) has raised alarm over the importation of weapons through the northern borders into the country.

The group mentioned that Rocket propelled grenades RPGS and Anti-aircraft guns are being smuggled in using camels.

ACF in a statement signed by its National Executive Committee Chairman, Chief Audu Ogbe said, kidnappers, are now building their armory with ransom collected from kidnapped Nigerians.

Northwestern states of Nigeria including Zamfara, Jigawa and Katsina – President Buhari’s hometown, have in recent times witnessed increasing incidents of Kidnapping and banditry.
