The President of Nigeria Union of Journalists has decried the widespread targeting of media institutions during an ongoing protest against police brutality as he urged the authorities to provide protection.

According to Chris Isigozu, hoodlums targeted several media outlets looting some and setting others alight.

Many states have declared curfew as the government orders the deployment of anti-riot police to contain the violence and looting that have marred the protest.
