Nigeria: Death toll from Ikoyi building collapse hits 42

Nigeria's Lagos state government on Sunday said the death toll from the collapse of a high-rise building on Gerrard Road in the Ikoyi area is now 42.

Families of the victims of the building collapse continue to mourn their loved ones as Government reveal plans to ease their pains.

Addressing journalists at the site of the tragic event, state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the state would foot the bills of those injured while his administration is working behind the scene to provide monetary support to families to help with the burial arrangements for their loved ones.

Sanwo – Olu also cited a case of an unidentified young man that was trapped in the rubble, assuring that the government will help his family.
