The United States Wednesday said its Ambassador to Niamey will in arrive in the coming days.
Ambassador Kathleen FitzGibbon’s arrival according to the State Department, is a signal of Washington’s continued engagement with the situation in Niger.
State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel however told reporters, that there are no plans for her to present her credentials to coup leaders and that it is not necessary for the work at the embassy.
