At least, 47 Liberians have received scholarships for advanced study and short-term training in China through a human resource development agreement between Monrovia and Beijing.

Since reaffirming its commitment to the One China Policy in 2005, which was reiterated by President George Weah this year, Monrovia has enjoyed an increase in assistance from the Asian giant especially in the areas of capacity building.
