In Ghana, the police have apprehended 52 illegal miners for unlawfully entering a mining shaft belonging to AngloGold Ashanti.

These individuals are part of about 300 illegal miners who have been trapped in the mining shaft for over 72 hours.

While the families of the trapped miners claim the company is responsible for their loved ones’ predicament, AngloGold Ashanti denies these allegations.

WADRs Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson reports that the arrested individuals willingly emerged from the mine and surrendered themselves to the police.
