Former Mauritanian president Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz on Monday denied all charges of illicit enrichment in his final court appearance, ahead of a verdict expected shortly.

Abdel Aziz, who led Mauritania from 2008 to 2019 before his gradual fall, delivered a monologue lasting several hours before the court that has been trying him since the beginning of the year.
