The lawyers of the former Mauritanian president complain that they no longer have access to their client.

Since 22 June, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has been detained in a villa at the police academy in the nation’s capital, Nouakchott. He is being prosecuted for alleged financial misappropriation.

His lawyers say they have been prevented from visiting him, a decision they violates the law.

Taleb Khayar is one of the lawyers of the former Mauritanian president.
