The malian army announced that it had neutralized nearly fifty terrorists at the end of last week.

These large-scale operations by the Malian armed forces were carried out in the towns of Gao, Léré and Niono in the north and centre of the country.

DIRPA, the Armed Forces Information and Public Relations Directorate, also reports that this offensive by the FAMA resulted in the destruction of vehicles and the recovery of a large quantity of weapons.

In Gao, more than thirty terrorists were neutralized while in Léré, at least a dozen terrorists were eliminated and several motorbikes and weapons were recovered.
