Unidentified gunmen in Mali carried out a series of attacks in the central and southern regions, resulting in the deaths of at least seven people and several others injured.

According to media reports, among the victims were two police officers and a Ghanaian driver.

The attacks occurred overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, and the perpetrators remain unidentified.

Imoh Edet reports that heavily armed assailants on motorcycles raided the Heremakono border post in the Sikasso region near Burkina Faso at around 4 a.m., setting both the customs and police posts on fire.
