The first ministerial meeting of the Alliance of Sahel States which brought together the economic ministers of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger was held in Bamako over the weekend.

Economic issues and several development projects were discussed within the AES.

Earlier, experts had met to discuss trade and food security, among other issues.
