Mali and Burkina Faso are warning against any military intervention against Niger.

The two transitional governments insist that any such intervention would be considered a “declaration of war”.

In a joint statement signed by the two countries and issued on Monday evening, Bamako and Ouagadougou warn that any intervention would result in Burkina Faso and Mali withdrawing from ECOWAS.
