Liberians will today take to the streets of the capital Monrovia to advocate for the establishment of a war and economic crimes court for Liberia.
The protest is a continuation of efforts to build a national consensus on establishing the court to prosecute perpetrators of the country’s brutal civil war which ended in 2003.
An estimated 250,000 people were killed during the conflict that began in December 1989.
One of the conveners of today’s protest is Maxson Kpakio of Justice Forum-Liberia.
