In Liberia, the proprietor of the Jones Christian Academy in Monrovia, the nation’s capital, Bishop Emmanuel Jones, has said one of his teachers will be prosecuted for allegedly raping a teenage student.
Despite rape being a non-bailable offense in Liberia, Jones said the case would be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
However, anti-rape advocates have called for harsher punishment for those found guilty of the crime, as the number of rape cases in the country has continued to rise.
WADRs Darlington Porkpa in Morovia has a report.
