Liberian Senate votes to abolish death penalty

The Liberian Senate has voted to abolish the death penalty in the country after a submission by President George Weah.

This followed the Senate’s plenary decision to amend sections of the Liberian Code of Law Revise relating to sentencing and the death penalty.
