The head of Liberia's National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, Emma Glassco has admitted that while fish mongers play a critical role in sustaining the economy, they continue to be overlooked without appropriate programs to add value to their trade.
The NaFAA boss who was speaking during the start of a two-day forum on the establishment of the Liberian chapter of the African Women fish processers in Monrovia also described as crucial, the role of women in ensuring food security, meeting nutritional requirements as well as sustaining the livelihood of their communities.
