Liberian Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has underscored the need for economic support to traditional leaders who are practising female genital mutilation or FGM.
Speaking outside Monrovia during the official program marking the 16 days of activism against sexual and gender-based violence; VP Taylor argued that Liberia cannot end FGM in the absence of an alternative livelihood program for traditional leaders who survive through the practice of FGM.
