Liberia's Supreme Court over the weekend ordered a temporary halt to preparations for the December 8, midterm senatorial elections.
The decision comes after Justice in Chamber, Sie-A-Nyene Youh issued a Writ of Mandamus on behalf of an aspirant of the December 8 elections who was reportedly denied candidature by the elections commission.
The election is intended to fill 15 vacant senate seats as well as a referendum intended to repeal portions of the constitution.
