Lawyers representing victims of the Liberian civil war at an ongoing trial in Switzerland of a former Liberian rebel fighter are pleading with prosecutors to give the former fighter a maximum of 20 years in jail.

Alieu Kosiah is being prosecuted on 25 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The charges include murder, rape and the conscription of child soldiers.

He denies the allegations.

Liberian journalist Anthony Stevens is covering the trial in the Swiss city of Bellinzona.
