Interview: The significance of COP15 to Africa – Maimuna Jabi

The 15th session of the Conference of the Parties otherwise known as COP15 of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification is taking place in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.

The event which commenced on the 9th of this month has in attendance 196 world leaders, the private sector, civil society and other critical stakeholders from around the world to drive progress in the future sustainable management of land. 

In our Guest Interview segment today, we are being joined by Maimuna Jabi, Communications Officer for the Great Green Wall Frontline in The Gambia who is attending the conference in Abidjan. Maimuna speaks to WADR on the significance of the conference to Africa especially in the context of the African Union’s Great Green Wall Project.
