After our previous coverage of the Ghanaian Independence Day celebrations in the Volta region, which sparked anger among some Ghanaians, Former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo urged the government to allocate funds designated for the festivities towards more beneficial initiatives for the country’s citizens.
She believed that spending limited resources on independence celebrations while the economy was suffering was not a wise decision.
