How well do you about human rights and commitment in Africa? Do you also know that your rights could be infringed on even when transacting a business locally and internationally?
Do you also know that when you are prevented from entry into any country in Africa, this is also an infringement on your rights?
Well, for the past three days, this issue was on the table for discussion at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa Ethiopia, as the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions, CSOs and development organizations wants it ..HUMAN RIGHTS…fully embedded and recognized not just by countries in the continent, but by the Africa Union’s flagship project African Continental Free Trade Area, AfCFTA, which is a 2063 agenda. This discussion is in the context of AfCFTA implementation.
So to help us make sense of how all of this works, the commissions or organizations responsible for receiving your human rights complaints, Mrs Abiola Idowu-Ojo will tell us how to get about it.
Mrs Idowu-Ojo is the Senior Legal Officer on Protection at the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights.
