The Malian Association for Human Rights (AMDH), Lawyers Without Borders Canada (ASFC), the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and Amnesty International (AI ) welcome the publication of the MINUSMA report on March 30, 2021.
The report was published following the investigation into the air strikes launched by the Barkhane force on January 3 on the town of Bounty (Mopti region), in Mali.
This report, produced at the end of a mission which took place in Bamako, Mopti, Sévaré, Douentza and Bounty, reveals that several strikes would have killed three suspected members of armed groups and 19 civilians attending a marriage ceremony.
The groups said the report demonstrates the need for in-depth judicial investigations by the Malian and French authorities into these facts which could constitute crimes under international law.
