The opposition group in Guinea, many of whose members faced arbitrary arrest and detention during the regime of the former President has acknowledged the coup.
While it described as “unfortunate” the manner in which President Conde was removed from power, it called on Guineans to remain calm as the soldiers lead the charge of governance.
