Two leading members of Guinea's transitional government were late on Tuesday suspended.
The Attorney General of the Conakry Court of Appeal, Charles Wright and the High Commander of the National Gendarmerie, Colonel Balla Samoura have been at loggerheads since last week after the attorney General accused Colonel Balla Samoura of interfering in the work of the judiciary.
On Tuesday evening, a statement signed by the Minister of Justice announced the suspension of Attorney General Charles Wright with immediate effect for disciplinary misconduct.
In addition to this measure, he will go before the Superior Council of the Judiciary to decide what will happen in accordance with the law.
In a second press release later in the evening, the Minister in charge of Defence, General Sidiki Camara announced that the high commander of the gendarmerie had also been suspended from his duties for violating provisions relating to the public speaking of soldiers.
