Guinea’s High Authority for Communication has suspended the international news channel Africa 24, accusing it of operating illegally in the country.
The decision was announced on Sunday evening, December 21, following the channel’s broadcast of reports linked to the ongoing presidential campaign.
According to the media regulator, Africa 24 does not currently hold a valid authorization to operate in Guinea.
The suspension adds to concerns about media regulation and press freedom during the election period.
