The governments of Guinea and Sierra Leone have agreed on the reopening of their shared border.
Guinea unilaterally closed the border in October last year after accusing Sierra Leone of meddling in its domestic politics.
However, Sierra Leone disputed the allegation and requested the regional bloc ECOWAS to intervene.
The decision to reopen the border on Thursday of this week followed a meeting between President Julius Maada Bio and his Guinean counterpart Alpha Conde on Tuesday in Conkary.
A dispute over a border town on the Sierra Leonean side of the border also formed part of the discussion.
Imran Mohamed Sillah, a Sierra Leonean government spokesman has been telling us more on the line from Freetown.
