Guinea-Bissau’s govt closes 79 radio stations for non-payment of license fees

The government has shut down seventy-nine radio stations across the country.

The Ministry of Social Communication announced in a statement, that a 72-hour deadline given by the Minister, Fernando Mendonça for 88 radio station to regularize their broadcast license status, elapsed on April 6, 2022.

This resulted in the immediate closure of the broadcast stations, the ministry said.
