Guinea Bissau’s former Prime Minister Domingo Simoes Pereira risks prosecution after facing accusation of corruption during the time he was prime minister from 2014-2015.

He is accused of misappropriating 35.2 billion francs CFA.

The former Prime Minister is also accused of associating with a group the authorities accuse of plotting a coup against the government of President Umaro Cissoco Embalo.

A parliamentary committee is now looking into the claims against the former PM and would determine whether to lift his parliamentary immunity so he could stand trial.

Bissau Guinean journalist Allen Yero Mballo has been telling WADR more about this development.
