An activist group in Guinea is calling for the immediate prosecution of former president Alpha Conde.
The call comes just days after the transitional government in a statement said that the ousted Guinea leader returned to the country last Friday from a medical trip to the United Arab Emirates UAE.
The chief strategist for the National Front for the defense of the constitution FNDC Sunday said the trial should focus on the case of hundreds of civilians killed by security forces during demonstrations against Conde’s third-term mandate.
Sékou Koundouno urged the Guinean authorities to ensure that the long-delayed trial of the crimes including rights violations starts as soon as possible.
