Ghana’s speaker of parliament Alban Bagbin has announced a legislative inquiry into the spillage of the Akosombo dam by the Volta River Authority (VRA).

Weeks after the spillage hit the country’s Eastern region, thousands of people remain displaced and deprived of essential services despite the government’s response.
