Ghana's main opposition party has rejected the election results declared by the electoral commission citing alleged irregularities.

Officials of the National Democratic Congress said they would make known their next course of action soon.

Incumbent President Nana Akufo Addo was on Wednesday evening declared winner of the election.

Local and international election monitors have said that the elections were transparent, free and fair.
