Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo, has announced that permanent military barracks will be established in the border town of Bawku, the upper east region. This is in response to terrorism concerns.
Recall that last week, a leaked internal memo from the regional police indicated that Burkinabe bandits had planned to attack Ghana, hence the need for increased surveillance.
While visiting the Upper East region of Ghana, President Akufo-Addo listened to the concerns of residents in the area, which bordered on security, and promised to intervene.
