The speaker of Ghana’s parliament has threatened to refer the country’s transport minister, Kweku Ofori Asiamah to the privileges committee after he failed to appear before the legislature on Tuesday to answer questions regarding his ministry.
The transport minister was scheduled to respond to a number of questions but a letter to the legislature from the ministry indicated the unavailability of the sector minister.
The latest development becomes second in barely a week after the country’s finance minister failed to appear to answer questions on how COVID funds had been utilized.
However, the speaker, Alban Bagbin, who was displeased with the minister, said his conduct will not be countenanced.
