The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) will carry out extensive maintenance works in the Volta and Oti regions, which will result in the interruption of power supply for five days.
The distribution of power will be rationed starting from Thursday through to next week Monday.
Amid concerns that this was a load shedding exercise, the regional PRO for the Electricity Company of Ghana, Benjamin Antwi assured that “we are not in dumsor. It is not like load shedding. This is maintenance work by GRIDCo.
He added that the request is to enable GRIDCo undertake repair works on their transformer that supplies power to both Volta and Oti Regions through the 69 KV transmission line from the Asiekpe Bulk Supply Point.
Antwi said his outfit was doing its bid to ensure clarity in the affected areas.
The outages in the affected areas will be from 6 am to 6 pm on the scheduled days.
