In Ghana, the circumstances surrounding the death of President John Evans Atta Mills in 2012 has become a topical issue in parliament.

Although the cause of his death was never disclosed, the former head of state who was president at the time of his death was battling throat cancer.

Years after his demise which resulted in John Mahama becoming president and winning that year’s presidential election, some members of parliament from the majority side of parliament are demanding a probe into the death of the former president.

Correspondent Eric Mawuena Egbeta reports.
