Sixty-six years after Ghana gained her independence from the British, citizens are divided about the true state of the country six decades later.
Yesterday, the former Gold Coast marked Independence Day in the Volta region, and the ceremony was attended by over 5,000 people including the ECOWAS Chairperson, President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló.
As WADR’s Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson reports, while many enjoyed the public holiday that came with the celebrations, questions remain as to whether this year’s expenditure was necessary, considering the harsh economic times.
