Ghana is on the verge of a cancer epidemic as the country records 40,000 cancer cases and 15,000 deaths every year.
Out of the global cancer death worldwide, 70% are in low-and-middle-income countries of which Ghana is part of according to the nation’s Medical Association.
The disparity is even more striking in the case of cervical cancer where 90% of new cases and deaths from this preventable disease occur in low- and middle-income countries
