The Final funeral rites for Ghana's longest serving President, Jerry John Rawlingswill commence on Friday, January 22, 2021.
Flt. Lieutenant Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
The funeral rites were postponed In December,after some chiefs in the former President’s region, the Volta region, expressed outrage that they were not included in the plans for the send-off of the statesman.
At a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, a caretaker Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, outlined a set of funeral activities for the late Rawlings including the traditional arrangements to run from January 22 until January 27 2021 when he will be buried.
