The Ghana Health Service says there have been 417 attempted suicide cases in the first half of the 2021.
Deputy Director of Mental Health at the Ghana Health Service, Dr Amma Ampomaa Boadu made this revelation on Thursday, during a mental health literacy training programme organised by the Mental Health Authority.
The Ashanti Region topped the list with 61 cases, followed by the Eastern Region with 60 cases and the Upper East Region with 47 cases.
Dr. Boadu also called on the government and civil society organisations to invest more in mental health.
