On Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited his soldiers from Gazelle, a Nigerien special forces training mission in Azawak, in the Tahoua region. 

The trip which took place under tight security was in line with President Mohamed Bazoum’s strategy to encourage the presence of German forces in his country.
