The Police in the Gambia arrested a popular Muslim cleric Ba Kawsu Fofana on Wednesday evening over three counts for inciting violence, indecent assault and being a principal offender.

Another Muslim cleric, Musa Saidy was also arrested by the police for similar charges.

The two Muslim clerics and their disciples have been sending threats to each causing fear among their followers.

Police Spokesperson ASP Binta Njie spoke to WADR on the development.
