The Government of The Gambia in a statement on Wednesday announced the annulment of the recently chosen deputy chairperson of the Country’s Independent Electoral commission.
Mr. Oremi Joiner was removed from the post, less than 24 hours after his appointment by President Adama Barrow.
President Barrow’s decision over Joiner’s appointment was met with serious condemnation from the United Democratic Party and members of the Gambian Civil Society.
