Four operatives of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and some residents of Galadima Kogo, a village in Shiroro Local government area of Niger state, north-central Nigeria, have been killed in a bomb blast.
The bomb incident which occurred on Monday was said to have been planted by Boko Haram fighters who are gradually extending their frontiers in to the expansive and ungoverned forests of the State.
Some sources say the Boko Haram fighters invaded Galadima Kogo in their large numbers shooting sporadically to scare villagers, killing an unspecified number of civilians and injuring many others including personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps who tried to repel them.
Emmanuel Umar is Niger State Commissioner for Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs. He confirmed the attacks in an interview with a local media.
